Rhinoplasty

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures, this plastic surgery on the nose can either be used to achieve a desired cosmetic appearance, or to resolve structural problems and repair nasal fractures. This procedure is generally done as an outpatient, under general anaesthesia.

The surgeon generally places thin plastic splints in the nasal cavities following surgery, and these are removed after five to six days; removal causes slight discomfort, but lasts only a few seconds. Some patients experience mild to moderate pain directly following surgery, while rarely, someone may experience severe pain, which is treated with narcotic medications. Swelling may also occur.
